How did you pick your Vox name? Does it mean something?
Submitted by LeendaDLL.
Sure does! It's a line from the Led Zeppelin song, The Ocean:
Singing in the sunshine, laughing in the rain
Hitting on the moonshine, rocking in the grain
Ain't no time to pack my bag, my foots outside the door
Got a date, I can't be late, for the high hopes hailla ball.
Singing to an ocean, I can hear the ocean's roar
Play for free, play for me and play a whole lot more, more!
Singing about good things and the sun that lights the day
I used to sing on the mountains, has the ocean lost it's way.
Sitting round singing songs 'til the night turns into day
Used to sing on the mountains but the mountains washed away
Now I'm singing all my songs to the girl who won my heart
She is only three years old and it's a real fine way to start.

Good question, Stephanie!
okkkkkk, so maybe that butterfly pictures WASN'T gorgeous, LOL. Maybe I see things differently. Very possible!
Last night I went to see The Pretenders. Chrissie Hynde still rocks her ass off! They sang the two songs I really wanted to hear, "Precious" and "Tattooed Love Boys"; cross another concert off my list of "Bands I'd Really Like To See".
Had drinks and apps with a friend the other night. I mentioned someone that I work with that she's friends with (follow that?) in a derogatary way, and was told emphatically, "I have nothing to say about that." Hmmm... So of course I felt like an idiot for talking about it and was uncomfortable and looked around the room going lalala inside my head while sipping my dirty martini. Oh well, lesson learned and point taken.
August 4th, had my Mom lived, would be my parents 59th wedding anniversary. Mom said more than once that she really wanted to live to celebrate their 60th. We'll celebrate it with you in thought, Mom!
I'm feeling a bit blue and whatnot today.
On a bright note, a really cute guy started at work this week. And by really cute, I mean REALLY cute. Alas, he's 27. LOL!
What did you do this weekend?
Thursday I made up with a friend; Friday, saw the Dropkick Murphys up in Hampton Beach, NH; Saturday, went to Glasgow Lands Scottis Festival in Florence (Northampton), MA and saw a great band called Enter The Haggis, then saw a turkey vulture down the street from my house, and finally, had some yummy drinks called Ruby Vrooms at a favorite hangout in Harvard Sq (the Ruby Vroom picture at the bottom is courtesy of my friend, Michelle). Sunday I did some cleaning, some shopping, some picture taking, and fit in a viewing of POTC1.
It was nice to have a quiet day at home! Hope you all had a great weekend!
What are your three favorite album covers of all-time? Any honorable mentions?
Question submitted by Tamara.
The day I was born "Love Letters In the Sand" by Pat Boone was the number one hit. Hmmm...don't remember that one, thankfully! On my 21st birthday, the number one song was "Shadow Dancing" Andy Gibb. I'm sure I'd know it if I heard it, but off the top of my head, uh. On my 30th birthday, the number one song was "Head to Toe" by Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, and THAT song I remember! Wasn't their best, but not so bad...
